Manchester has been experiencing some lovely, warm weather as of late, defying its reputation as the ‘Rainy City’ and becoming a ‘hotspot’ shall we say with beer gardens filling up for those in search of a drink in the sunshine. The city has an extensive number of beer gardens to choose from, however three pubs and bars in and around Manchester have been named for having some of the best beer gardens in the UK to visit on a sunny day.
A new guide compiled by Big 7 Travel saw The Wharf in Manchester’s Castlefield take fifth place out of the 30 spots featured in the list. The pub was praised for its “bustling outdoor terrace”, “vibrant outdoor areas which sometimes feature live music performances in the summer” and boules court.

As for Dukes 92, a canal-side suntrap come summer time which came in 18th place, the guide gave recognition for having two levels to its beer garden – the waterside and the balcony area, which allow punters to watch the boats glide past on the canal network. The pub was also praised for having a wide selection of drinks and food on offer and that “it’s so easy to spend a whole day (and night!) here”.
