Cocktails in the City guests to be the first to experience The Ivy Spinningfields before it opens its new permanent home in Manchester.
The Ivy Spinningfields will make an appearance at Cocktails in the City this weekend, offering guests an exclusive first-taste of its signature cocktails, soon to be appearing on the menu at the new site in Manchester.
Founded in 1917 in the heart of London’s theatreland, The Ivy has become a long-standing celebrity haunt and will open its new Ivy Collection site at Manchester Spinningfields in late November. And this weekend, Cocktails in the City, the UK’s largest festival of bars, will premiere cocktails from The Ivy Collection at New Century Hall, offering guests an exclusive first look at the highly anticipated bar.
The annual event will feature Manchester’s leading bars including Arcane, Cottonopolis, Harvey Nichols and Science and Industry, all within short sipping distance of each other. The bars will deliver showstopping cocktails, one-off signature serves and the latest innovations in taste and flavour, all in an attempt to win the hearts and votes of festival-goers, as they compete to be crowned best cocktail bar.
Guests will also be given a lesson in cocktail history, as bartenders will be serving up cocktails throughout the ages, drawing from the four distinct eras of cocktail development. The bars will be taking inspiration from the decadent Belle Epoque period of the late 1800’s, the speakeasy cocktails of the prohibition period, retro and disco drinks of the 1960’s to 80’s and finishing with very modern and futuristic style concoctions.
The Ivy Spinningfields will open in Manchester on Tuesday, 27 November, offering Mancunians a totally new dining experience set across four fabulous floors. The gorgeous timber-framed space will be based in the city’s financial district and surrounded by lush foliage, creating a welcome green space in the heart of the city.
The restaurant will feature a ground floor brasserie, first-floor private dining room, an opulent Asian bar and restaurant on the second floor, as well a sumptuous roof garden complete with fire pits and lush greenery on the top floor.
