If there are two things every Northerner loves, it’s pie and barms. Put the two legendary dishes together and, well, you’re onto an absolute bloody winner – something Manchester pie shop Ate Days A Week has, thankfully, figured out.
Quite simply putting a delicious, handmade pie in between two bits of bread, guests can well and truly carb-up at the Cooper Street venue, with tons of warming, British grub on the menu to enjoy.
Consisting of either a steak and ale pie, salt and pepper curry sauce pie or a vegetable and bean chilli and cheese pie, the ‘(I Just) Died In Your Barm’ is topped with mushy peas and proper gravy or a buttered barm, putting a gourmet spin on a proper working class meal.
Each pie is made in-house with a shortcrust pastry base & puff pastry lid, and can be served either as a barm, or on top of creamy chive mash and minted mushy peas, before being lathered in proper thick, rich gravy.
In addition to the show-stopping pie barm, guests can also choose from menu items such as fish and chips, three-cheese grilled cheese sandwiches and Grandad’s Sausage with chips and a choice of curry sauce or gravy. See ya later, Pukka Pies.
