Set to add to Manchester’s thriving nightlife is a new 1,000 capacity music venue backed by some of the biggest names in electronic music. To top it off, not only can guests get the chance to to see famous names, discover their next favourite DJ and lose themselves in the music, entry will cost just £5. Known as Amber’s, the new live music venue will be located on Oxford Road in Manchester and will open from this December.
Set across two rooms, Amber’s promises to preserve what’s great about the music scene and its culture, providing a space to connect and form new relationships and most of all, a venue that wants you to experience pure euphoria. The live space will have a state-of-the-art L-Acoustics sound system and custom lighting spec, and a club venue, focusing on a music policy that “spans the entire underground electronic music spectrum”.
What sets Amber’s apart is the concept on Saturdays where every week the DJs will be a surprise and not announced in advance, with artists playing under the radar and revealed post-event. All Saturday tickets will be £5 advance. Amber’s will be welcoming a range of local, national and international promoters across live shows and club nights to soundtrack our venue, working in collaboration with various venues and club brands in the city.
Amber’s will also feature seasonal programming and events with Season One running from December 2024 to March 2025. The launch event on Thursday 5th December and every Saturday in Season One, will have unannounced line-ups, featuring some of the world’s best DJs alongside up-and-coming selectors and world-class residents.
And the names behind the new concept give a sense of some of the DJs that might take to the decks of Amber’s in Manchester. James Hutchins is a resident at London’s most iconic nightclub fabric, and has a regular slot on Rinse FM. He has teamed up with Nothing Forced agency, the design agency from Mixmag alumni Jeremy and Lawrence Abbott. Plus, Sam Tunstall, who is a co-director of Un.titled Studio, based in Salford and established La Discothequé Orchestra, the ensemble which opened festivities at London music venue, Drumsheds.
The venue will have a no photos policy adding to the overall vibe in the room and protecting the experience for both DJ and dancer. There will also be an in-house welfare team to monitor the club to ensure the safety, welfare and wellbeing of attendees, plus promote an inclusive, safe and approachable space.
General sale tickets for Saturdays at Amber’s in Manchester during December will go on sale Friday 1st November at 10am. People can sign up for pre-sale access here, which allows people to buy tickets 24 hours earlier on Thursday October 31st at 10am.
