Here in Manchester we pride ourselves on catering to all kinds of diets, and especially our vegan restaurants. Now we have been vindicated because one of our own, The Allotment Vegan Eatery, has been named by Big Seven Travel as one of the best vegan restaurants in the world.
Of course, we already know The Allotment is great, having served wonderful healthy and gluten-free meals in the Medieval Quarter since 2018, but quite specifically its use of fresh, local produce has been praised in the list, placing 28th in the world.
Discussing the vegan Manchester restaurant, the list said: “Allotment Vegan Eatery is a fantastic restaurant located in the heart of Manchester. What makes them stand out is their use of fresh, locally-sourced ingredients that serve as the foundation for their extensive vegan menu.
“If you’re in the mood for something extraordinary, they offer a 10-course tasting menu that will leave you with an unforgettable experience. But, if you’re after a classic comfort food, you must try their vegan Sunday roast that features a delicious cauliflower steak that rivals the traditional roast.”
In addition to the wonderful Allotment Sunday roast, the vegan eatery offers the likes of kebabs, tacos and grain bowls, alongside special dishes such as the Tofu Laksa and the Bahn Mi Sandwich, both of which you’ll struggle to find elsewhere.
Of course, we have so many other great vegan spots, for example Purezza, a completely vegan pizzeria, and Vegan Shack for all your vegan fast food needs, and it’s definitely a wonderful achievement for Allotment to have been recognised in this way.
You can find The Allotment Vegan Eatery at 1-3 Cathedral Gates, Manchester, M3 1SW.
