Hearts will melt at this new spot.
Coming out of lockdown is now an even more exciting prospect than before! For canine-lovers in Manchester, this is possibly the best news we’ve had in a while. A spanking new dog café is set to open up—and it’ll even have an indoor doggy beach! [Image: Alfie’s Island Café, Facebook]
Alfie’s Island Café plans to open in Timperley, Trafford with a 22-acre site. It will be a spot for owners to bring their dogs and dog lovers to come and admire, or even adopt the café’s adorable pets. The café is a new site for the former Central Bark Café, who wish to create a community hub for both humans and dogs.
Alfie’s Island will feature tropical decor and an American-style menu for customers to gorge on at their hangout. And yes, there are some baked goodies available for your dogs to nibble on too. They also hope to be able to show films outside during the warmer months. We hope Lady And The Tramp is first in line.
A number of rescue and day-care dogs will be on site, and visitors will have the opportunity to give some of the dogs a new home. Owners Tony and Tania Golden socialise rescue dogs before introducing them to the public. When you go to Alfie’s Island, you’ll notice some dogs are wearing bandanas as they walk around the café. These are the dogs that are up for adoption—so make a good impression if you’re looking for a new friend.
The best part? Alfie’s Island is named after their very own rescued golden retriever, who you will of course be able to meet. You’ll probably catch him relaxing on the indoor beach!
Owners plan to open up the café in July if all goes to plan. It’s set to be a much-needed happy distraction with all that’s going on right now. And we could all use some puppy love, eh?
