Forget ‘Push for Prosecco’…
If flipping pancakes isn’t quite your forte (like myself, for example), then you’ve picked a great city to celebrate Shrove Tuesday. No longer do we have to embarrass ourselves with our pancake batter spending more time on the ceiling than in the actual pan, because our favourite city centre restaurants are doing the hard graft for us. Phew!
Celebrating Pancake Day in style this year, Albert’s Schloss will be changing the purpose of their famous ‘Push for Prosecco’ buttons dotted around their venue. Instead of being greeted by prosecco at the push of the button, guests will receive delicious crepes – but for one day only!
Taking place on Shrove Tuesday itself, guests can choose from a special menu of pancakes constructed just for the occasion – and it looks flippin’ delicious!
The Bavarian restaurant has included both sweet and savoury options with German touches to the menu, including:
- Crepe filled with chocolate praline, with blood orange slices, icing sugar and vanilla ice cream
- Black forest ham and cheese crepe filled with cured ham and wild mushrooms topped with alpine cheese sauce
- Sweet potato and spinach crepe filled with sweet potato, baby spinach and red pepper topped with alpine cheese sauce
Booking is recommended if you fancy getting your pancake fix at Schloss, and can be done on their website here.
