With historic links to New York, Liverpool is our very closest gateway to the west, and now the North West is set to see the return of a traditional route between the two cities. Iconic cruise company Cunard has unveiled a programme of 93 voyages sailing between October 2028 and May 2029, with one leaving from Liverpool to New York.
The season culminates in Queen Mary 2’s landmark 500th Transatlantic Crossing, a 14-night round-trip voyage from Liverpool to New York, setting sail on 4 May, 2029. Guests can also embark in Hamburg and Southampton, offering guests the opportunity to be part of a defining chapter in Cunard’s history.

The sailing marks the first time since 2015 that guests have been able to depart Liverpool on a Cunard Transatlantic Crossing, marking a significant moment for Cunard and its spiritual home.
The first Cunard liner to make the Transatlantic Crossing was Britannia in 1840, winning a British government contract to deliver mail across the Atlantic every two weeks.
Since then, there have been hundreds of liners in the Cunard fleet, many of which have been called into service for various important posts: notably, RMS Carpathia deployed to rescue Titanic survivors in 1912, and Cunard ships serving in both World Wars and the Falklands conflict.
