Batten down the hatches, we’re in for a stormy week.
And Mancs across the region have already been snapping breathtaking images of the sky, showcasing last night’s bizarre ‘silent storm’. Also known as a ‘heat storm’, Manchester was hit with the weather phenomenon just last night – a storm which comes with only lightning and no accompanying thunder.
The skies were painted pink and purple hues as a result of the storm, with some lucky photographers who stayed up late even catching the very moments that lightning struck. According to the MetOffice, thunderstorms are set to take place each day until Thursday, too – so who knows what sights we’ll get to see before the week is out. Read on to see the amazing photographs.
