Who said chocolate for breakfast was a bad thing? Definitely not us. And most certainly not 19 Cafe Bar. Located in the Northern Quarter, just metres away from the madness of Piccadilly Gardens, this cafe has to be one of the sweetest spots around for breakfast and brunch, with a sugar-dusted menu of treats up for grabs to start the day with.
An underrated retreat ideally located for those exploring the city and all it has to offer, the homely cafe has become well-known for its breakfast creations – in particular, their fluffy American pancakes – which have not only stolen the hearts of locals, but avid Instagrammers, too.
Consisting of a stack of three, thick, fluffy pancakes, each plate is given a generous dusting of icing sugar, before being completed with an array of drool-worthy toppings such as Lotus Biscoff, Kinder chocolate, fresh fruit, maple syrup and tasty bacon. It’s a menu fit for any pancake lover, and one sure to fulfil that sugar craving – stat.
Experimenting with new toppings on the reg, the cafe’s ‘specials’ board is regularly updated, too, in addition to their permanent menu, with the likes of ‘Funfetti’, Oreo and Reese’s Pieces previously gracing the ever-changing board.
If pancakes don’t quite tickle your fancy, guests can also choose from an extensive list of brunch classics, from the traditional full English, to packed bagels, a variety of Eggs Benedict creations, and a number of brioche breakfast rolls.
19 Cafe Bar is daily from 9am, and you can find them at 19 Lever St, M1 1BY.
